Joe Lycett showing us how it's done, sage advice from a man who put his willy in a sock, Andy Burnham and my dog's favourite new toy

Joe Lycett is a masterclass of what Behind The Scenes content should be with his new exhibition at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery. We can’t always rely on having a guest curator who’s a professional comedian, but his videos also show the importance of filming EVERYTHING as you go.
If you work in a place that hasn’t been renovated in 20 years, then you should be mining the nostalgia of being dragged around a museum as a teenager while you’re actively being ghosted.
Next time you need to do a how-to, just strap a 360° camera to your head like the RHS.
Some advice from Flea.
You can apply this format to so, so many things.
The bullet point bit
A lot of people have noticed that Andy Burnham is better at social media than Keir Starmer. And that’s not Starmer’s team’s fault (they can do good stuff) - it’s what they had to work with. And the same applies to us. If the person you’re interviewing isn’t interesting or charismatic, there’s only so much you can do with that:

You’d think an organisation like CILIP would take care over a new website, making sure text is tight, images rich and that everyone can trust you. Or you can fill it with AI slop.
I’ve wondered before how creators find the perfect audio tracks for their videos, and for some reason never considered just, you know, browsing the trending audio until an idea hits you.
MuseumNext asked London Museum, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and the National Gallery how to create a viral video. The advice is predictable but that’s a good thing. The principles have been clear for ages, it’s the delivery that counts.
Personal stuff I do for me and you can just skip this if you like
🎮📖 what I’m consuming as a consumer
I finally finished The Discovery of Heaven which I broadly liked, even if the women only exist to have sex and/or die, the author is obviously incredibly horny and it takes a lot of pages to basically show that God doesn’t give a fuck.
Also got a new toilet seat. Not long now until I’ve finished the bucket list and I can finally die.
